You will have Marosengefeiter Willibald Mathes, Matosengefeiter Armin Jeckstat, Obermachinest Luitpld Pftizer who will also be your senior enlisted men, Funkgfreiter Raf Speidel, and Mechanikergefreiter Eberhard Suess. Keep an eye on all of them but Pftizer as they were all brought up on report for various reasons last month." "Aye Sir" replies Engel, looking a bit dejected at not getting to go home to Berlin for Christmas.

**knock knock**
Enter says KpLt Edel.
In walks Hugh Brandt the 1WO of the U-45 Seehexe.
"good evening Hugh, this is a pleasant surprise, what can I do for you today?"
"Well, sir, I know you don't get out much, but I thought tonight would be a good night to visit the Jäger Stammlokal. It's not every night someone born on the 29th of February get's to celebrate their actual birthdate, and the crew of the Seehexe wants to take their Kommadant out for his."
"Hugh, I would love to, but I have a briefing tonight, and then loads of paperwork to catch up on, and to call the girl I left behind"
"Sir, I know all about your excuses, which is why I can not take no for an answer. I'll be picking you up after the 1900 Kommadant's briefing and if I need to I'll get KpLt Ballert and KpLt Jacobs to help me drag you there, with all due respect of course sir" Brandt replies.

February 29th 2000 Hours - Following the command briefing
Kapitan Ballert enters the office and says “I afraid Klaus your presence is required at the Bar there is no escape. I do have yours and my officers outside who will carry you there if need be but it would be far more dignified for you to come quietly” Joachim adds smiling at Klaus. He adds “Your choice but you’re not getting out of this”
At that Klaus Eben stands up and says “OK maybe just one” and heads to his office door. A cheer goes up from the officers of U-45 and U-85 who are waiting outside the door.
They all head off to Jager Stammlokal to celebrate the once every four years birthday of the noble Kapitan Klaus Eben

*Knock Knock*
"enter" says Klaus Eben.
"Somehow I thought you might be here" ObLt Hugh Brandt says to his boat's commander. "On behalf of the rest of the officers, congratulations on your promotion, how is Anina doing? I know you mentioned she wasn't feeling well."
"I just got a letter from her, she says she is feeling better and that she had our first baby, a little girl she named Hanne, with us being here in France the likely hood of my getting back to Hanover is very slim." Edel replies.
"Well now that calls for celebration even if your promotion didn't you really should come into town with the rest of the officers, you spend to much time here in your office when we are in port." Brandt replies.
